Where To Take Your LEGO Loving Kid in St. Louis
I never played with LEGO growing up. I was a Barbie girl.
As one of three girls, LEGO just wasn't really part of my childhood. So when I became a mom and LEGO slowly (and then very quickly) took over our house, I had no idea what was coming. We have LEGOs everywhere (this is our favorite storage container and we love this table). And while I cannot stand stepping on those tiny bricks, I am completely amazed watching my kids build. My 5-year-old can do step by step instructions for sets made for 10-year-olds and he is so creative with his builds.
So if you have a LEGO-obsessed kid in your house too, I've rounded up some of our favorite places to take your LEGO lover around St. Louis, from LEGO stores and minifigure shops to library clubs and hands-on maker spaces.
My kids are obsessed with LEGOs and here’s some of our favorite spots around St. Louis to build, play and shop.
The Minifig Shop — Kirkwood + Chesterfield
If you have a serious LEGO fan, put this one on your list.
The Minifig Shop has locations in Kirkwood and Chesterfield at The District, and it is very different from your typical toy store. It's a LEGO-focused shop where kids can browse minifigures, bulk bricks, sets, parts and more. There are big bins they can fill a bag with and a small table where they can play with LEGOs. We had my son’s birthday here and it’s a really fun spot for a party! They just opened the location at The District and I’m excited to check it out.
The Mini Fig store is a LEGO lovers dream.

LEGO Store at West County Center
Of course, you can't have a LEGO-loving kid and not make a trip to the actual LEGO Store.
The West County location has a Pick & Build Wall, Build a Minifigure station and demonstration table, so there is more to do than simply walk around and look at sets. The store also offers special events and workshops, including free Little Builder Classes for younger builders.
It's worth checking the LEGO Store event calendar before you go because they periodically offer special building activities and events.
And yes, you should probably prepare your child for the possibility that they will want approximately 47 things.
LEGO Clubs at St. Louis County Libraries
This is one of my favorite options because it's FREE and it gives kids a chance to build with other LEGO fans.
St. Louis County Library has LEGO Clubs at multiple branches throughout the year. The schedule changes, but current and upcoming listings include LEGO Clubs at branches including Meramec Valley, Eureka Hills, Weber Road, Cliff Cave, Lewis & Clark, Parkview, Clark Family and others.
The library provides the LEGO, you just bring your little builder and their imagination. These are mostly for kids ages 5 and up.
Tip: Search the St. Louis County Library events calendar for "LEGO" to see what's coming up at a branch near you.
MADE for Kids
If your kid loves LEGO because they love building, creating and figuring out how things work, add MADE for Kids to your list.
They have a huge table where your kids can build legos! Plus if they like LEGOs they will probably like all the other cool stuff inside!
Admission is currently $7.50 per person, and there are $3 admission hours after 3 p.m. for eligible St. Louis-area residents, plus a free family night on the third Friday of each month.
MADE Makerspace has a great LEGO building area!
The Magic House
The Magic House also has a big LEGO table for kids who love to build! Things get moved around but the table can be found on the bottom floor near the arts and crafts rooms!
Bricks 4 Kidz
If your child is ready to take LEGO building a little more seriously, check out Bricks 4 Kidz St. Louis.
Bricks 4 Kidz uses LEGO-based projects to introduce kids to STEM concepts like engineering, architecture, technology and problem-solving. They offer camps, after-school programs, workshops, field trips and LEGO-themed birthday parties around the St. Louis area.
Bricks & Minifigs in O'Fallon
We haven’t been here yet but in O’Fallon MO you can find Bricks & Minifigs. It's a resale and hobby shop where LEGO fans can buy, sell and trade LEGO sets, minifigures and bulk bricks. They also have activities and events.
Piece Buy Piece Brick Co. in St. Charles
Another spot on our list to visit is Piece Buy Piece Brick Co. in St. Charles.
This LEGO-focused shop buys, sells and trades LEGO and carries sets, used and retired sets, bulk bricks, minifigures and other LEGO pieces.
LEGO Storage at Home
As a parent of a LEGO loving kid I know you’re like me and constantly trying to figure out the best way to store, organize and play with the LEGOs.
We love this table for LEGO play in their room.
We have two of these containers in the living room where they play and they can carry them around the house.
I’ve heard great things about this method for storage.
