The Best Soup Spots in St. Louis: 15 Bowls Worth Seeking Out
Now that it maybe, finally feels like fall in St. Louis, we can officially celebrate soup season! Once the temperatures drop, I start craving a warm bowl of something comforting, and thankfully, there are plenty of local restaurants that take their soup seriously.
I polled you all on social media and rounded up a list of bowls that need to be on your must try list! One thing to keep in mind: many of these restaurants rotate their soups, so it’s always a good idea to check the menu before you go.

The Fountain on Locust: Polish Dill Pickle Soup
If there is one soup that belongs on every St. Louis soup bucket list, it’s the Polish Dill Pickle Soup at The Fountain on Locust.
This creamy, potato-based soup is made with crushed dill pickles, giving it that unmistakable tangy, salty flavor. And while dill pickle soup might sound a little unusual if you’ve never tried it, it has become one of the restaurant’s signature dishes. ( I personally still havent tried it but it’s your all’s GO TO REC). The Fountain makes more than 50 scratch-made soups that rotate throughout the year, but the dill pickle soup is the one constant. 📍3037 Locust Street, St. Louis
Nudo House — Ramen
If you like your soup with noodles, toppings and a serious amount of flavor, head to Nudo House. I love their pho and their ramen! And right now on Thursdays they’re doing $10 bowls! 📍 11423 Olive Blvd, St. Louis and 6105-A Delmar Blvd, St. Louis

Civil Life — Soup Sundays
Soup Sundays at Civil Life Brewing Co. have become a St. Louis cold-weather tradition. It kicks off November 1!
Rather than having one signature soup, Civil Life typically serves a rotating lineup, making this one of those spots where you have to check what's cooking before you go. They usually offer multiple soups on Sundays, including a vegetarian option, and the tradition continues to get plenty of love from local soup fans. 📍3714 Holt Ave, St. Louis
Union Loafers — Chicken & Rice Soup
Union Loafers may be famous for its bread and pizza, but don't sleep on the soup.
The Chicken & Rice Soup is simple in the best possible way, with pasture-raised chicken, rice, carrots and celery, finished with schmaltz and lemon. And because this is Union Loafers, obviously you need some excellent bread alongside it. 📍 1629 Tower Grove Ave, Saint Louis
Saucy Porka — Mexi Pho
Saucy Porka is better known for its Asian-Latin fusion menu, and their Mexi Pho is the perfect example. Their pho inspired broth with wheat noodles, topped with bean sprouts, fresh basil, cilantro, jalapeños and scallions and pork carnitas. 📍3900 Laclede Ave, St. Louis
The mexi-pho at Suacy Porka is the perfect fusion bowl.

This one is for anyone who thinks soup should be bold, spicy and packed with flavor. One of the many delicious rotating soups at Companion.
Annie Gunn's — Potato Soup
Annie Gunn's Incredibly Famous Potato Soup has earned its reputation for a reason. It's creamy, hearty and loaded with big pieces of potato, bacon and chives. This is another famous one that I still need to try! 📍 16806 Chesterfield Airport Road, Chesterfield
Brasserie by Niche — French Onion Soup
For classic French onion soup, put Brasserie by Niche on your list. This is my favorite French onion soup in town! Deeply caramelized onions, rich broth and a cheesy crostini situation on top. 📍 4580 Laclede Ave, St. Louis
It feels like being in Paris when you dine at Brasserie and their french onion is one of the best in St. Louis.
Knead Bakehouse + Provisions — Seasonal Soup
Knead is another one to add to list. The Southampton bakery and cafe rotates its soups, and this is exactly the kind of place where a bowl of soup alongside a piece of really good sourdough makes for an ideal lunch. 📍 3467 Hampton Ave, St. Louis

This classic Italian deli on The Hill may be best known for their sandwiches but the daily soup at Adriana’s is ALWAYS a must order. I’ve never had a bad soup there. 📍 5101 Shaw Avenue St. Louis
The sandwich and salad combo at Adriana’s plus their daily soup special.
DD Mau — Pho
Soup doesn't always have to mean a creamy bowl with a spoon. A steaming bowl of pho absolutely counts and it’s my favorite during the cold months.
