In typical St. Louis fashion, we're about to experience all four seasons in one day. Starting off with balmy weather, switching to rain and wind and ending with an arctic blast. Woo. Winter is back for the weekend and I am so over the cold. It makes me want to just stay inside and become a hermit. But if you're willing to bundle up and brave the below freezing temps, there's lots to do around town this weekend. I know for sure I am dedicating several hours to organizing our apartment (exciting, I know). But it needs to be done because our hall closet is a nightmare. But that means we can treat ourselves with some beers!
Cabin Fever: This is one of my favorite events, and you're going to need to bundle up! But don't worry, there are fire pits and heaters, plus BEER to keep you warm. Sample 40+ beers at Schlafly's Cabin Fever including some special releases. Saturday 1/13 12pm-4pm. Buy tickets here.
Loop Ice Carnival: Speaking of the cold...head to the Loop this weekend to celebrate all things cold at the annual Ice Carnival. Games, rides, beers and ice! Saturday and Sunday 11am-4pm.
Info on events here.
Herbal Tea Blending: New year, new goals, and if one of your goals is to put better things in your body, you can't beat Big Heart Tea. On Saturday learn to make your own herbal tea blend at Bowood Farm. Reserve your spot ahead of time by calling 314-454-6868, 1/13 10am.
Mighty Pines at Off-Broadway: Looking to stay warm inside, well head to Off-Broadway to get warmed up by the sounds of bluegrass. The Mighty Pines always put on a good show and this is their first St. Louis show of the year. Tickets $12. 1/13 8pm.
Cask Festival: Another beer festival to warm you up, 2nd Shift is hosting cask festival featuring more than a dozen other breweries. 1/13 5pm-9pm. Tickets here.
As always, I'd love to hear your plans this weekend and let me know about other fun events I might have missed!
