I would say if there's one word for today's journalist its multitasking. This is what you don't often see. The behind the scenes scramble to get to the 6:00/10:00 news. Writing, editing, and of course making myself camera-ready in the car. This is a shot from Election Day and I can't believe it's almost December, because the month of November simply flew by.
In TV news, November is sweeps month, which means our ratings matter more than ever because it determines our rates for advertisers, aka how we make money. So it's always an intense month. When you add a presidential election and several major local stories, than all of a sudden life gets crazy. But despite the work craziness I still found time to explore some new spots and enjoy the unseasonably warm fall we had here in St. Louis. Here were just a few of my favorite moments from this month, including scenes from hosting Thanksgiving at my new apartment.
Hosting is one of my favorite things and now that I FINALLY have a dining room table (I've been eating off my coffee table since April…don't judge) I can't wait to host more. We kept it classic with all the Thanksgiving staples - I made turkey, mashed potatoes and apple pie. Everyone else brought the rest. I also have to say I feel like I have finally mastered the Instagram-worthy cheese plate. One day perhaps I'll do a post on making one! Now that sweeps has ended and life (maybe?) is slowing down, I'm working on posting more content here and updating the look of the blog. All part of that multitasking process. But this means multi-tasking work, life and this side-hobby over here on the blog. Stayed tuned!
Welcome to my blog! Here you'll find a behind the scenes look at the day-to-day life of a TV news reporter. I have a love for food, traveling and all things St. Louis. This is a place for me to write about my passions.
