Happy Friday friends! We made it! In the TV business there is no such thing as a holiday weekend, so no shortened week for this reporter, but it was a fun one. I got to cover Fair St. Louis for three days and while it was hot and crazy reporting in all four shows, its not a bad gig to listen to music, watch fireworks and eat funnel cake while getting paid for it. But I am seriously looking forward to a relaxing weekend hanging out with family and friends, and FINALLY editing all my Italy photos. Currently starting that process with a glass of rosé and some cherries. Anyone else obsessing over the summer fruit and vegetables? Like I am eating zucchini every day and gobbling up as many cherries and peaches as my heart desires. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I promise to have those Italy guides up on the blog soon!
This has been a whirlwind of a week. Coming back from vacation is always tough and top that with a full schedule of work and volunteer commitments and it was a doozy. I am so excited to relax this weekend and spend time with my loved ones. A great friend and co-worker is getting married and my boyfriend will be back in town for the first time in two weeks
After a lot of tragedy in the news this week, from the murders in Fresno to a random murder of two workers here in St. Louis, it's making me want to take each day and live it to the fullest, giving hugs to my loved ones and taking a moment to appreciate the blessings of every day. I hope you do the same! Have a wonderful weekend!
This was one of those weekends where I wanted to do nothing but either be submerged in a swimming pool or sit on my couch with the air conditioning blasting. We hit 101 today and it was brutal! But this was one of the first weekends in ages that I didn't have a full agenda and it was kind of wonderful. Summers in St. Louis usually mean festivals and BBQs, boat days and pool parties, so to have a Saturday afternoon where we had nothing to do but lounge and watch movies with a bottle of rosé? Count me in.
Friday night my mom and I went to the pop-up for Sardella, Gerard Craft's new and soon-to-open restaurnt. Full write-up coming soon but it was amazing. On Saturday, my boyfriend and I hit up the Tower Grove farmer's market where I proceeded to buy all the orange tomatoes (my absolute favorite). We followed that with brunch at Rooster and checked out the bottle release at 2nd Shift's new location on the Hill. Super excited these guys are moving to the city. I love their beer and can't wait to have them so close to my apartment. Then we lounged for hours on couch watching Netflix and ended the day with an awesome show from my friend's band The Mighty Pines at The Bootleg. When I write it all out it, it sounds like a busy weekend (plus I painted all day Friday!) but it was that perfect mix of relaxing and fun. Feeling refreshed as we head into the work week and hey, good news is it's cooling down! (If you can considered 90 degrees cool...)
Hope everyone had an equally good weekend! Cheers to a new week!
Oh goodness....another post starting with my amazement at how long it's been since I've blogged. Each week I say to myself, hey I need to get back to blogging. I take the photos...I think about posting...and then life gets in the way. But I guess that's what we're supposed to do, live life, not just post about it?
However, when I do l write on here, I realize how much of an incredible outlet it is. Not just as an outlet to express my thoughts but also as an outlet to share with you all the things I love about my city. I have a couple of exciting ideas for a new series of posts and I have several restaurant write-ups to do, so stay tuned!
But for now here's a look at a few of the things that brought delight to my life this week. Have a wonderful weekend!
