Can we talk about how it's already mid-December? This year has flown by and with the holiday season in full swing, I've found I've been slacking on the blogging front. I want to be better about weekly posts (hello new year's resolution!).
The past week was a great reminder that despite how crazy it gets at work, there's nothing I would rather do with my life. It's always easy to get sucked into complaining about work (every one does it!) and despite my love for my job, I too can find myself swept into looking at the bad. It was a busy week, turning two stories each day, plus trying to get everything done outside of work in terms of the holidays. So on Thursday when I needed to come in early for our annual food drive, my first thought was "I have so much to do!" but of course it ended up being the best part of my week. I love, love, love getting to meet our viewers. It is so humbling to realize how many people rely on our newscasts to get through their day. And their generosity was incredible. During the holidays, money is always tight, and to see these people help us fill basket upon basket of can food was amazing. Of course working with the folks at Operation Food Search is always a joy. They do so much good for the community and all the donations stay right in the local shelters.
The experience put a smile on my face the rest of the day.
Welcome to my blog! Here you'll find a behind the scenes look at the day-to-day life of a TV news reporter. I have a love for food, traveling and all things St. Louis. This is a place for me to write a bit more about my passions.
