Let's just go ahead and ignore the fact that it has been nearly a year and a half since I've updated my blog. If you take a gander to my last post, it's filled with enthusiasm to start blogging again. Well, life got in the way. I got a new job, a new apartment and a new city. An old city to be more accurate. The move back to my hometown of St. Louis has been a whirlwind. I always dreamed I would wind up back reporting in this city but I didn't know it would happen so fast.
You know how they say time flies when you're having fun? Well I've already been back in St. Louis reporting at KMOV for eight months now. It's hard to imagine this time last year I was in the frantic job-searching mode. But I'm a true believer that every thing works out the way it's supposed to and that's what led me back to this fair city. To say it's been a busy eight months is an understatement. I started in October right in the middle of everything that was happening in Ferguson. Naturally I had been watching everything unfold on TV back in Knoxville but now I was here, reporting on it. The effects of what happened in Ferguson last August are going to be felt in our city and across our nation for years to come but I can't say enough how amazed I am at the resilience of our city.
St. Louis has always been my home. Even though I was gone for seven years between Los Angeles and Knoxville, I've always felt the pull back to St. Louis. There's so much to offer in this city, from the restaurants to our parks to the diversity of the neighborhoods. There's so much to explore. And with all the growth happening here, it's like moving to a new city.
That's one of the reasons I wanted to dive back in to this blog. I love reporting on the issues in our city that matter to our viewers at KMOV. From how the crime affects you to what's going on in the local political arena, I like that we get to watch out for you every day. But I also love writing about the restaurants I visit and the events that make this city one of the best places to live. That's what I want to do here. So let's try this again. Hopefully it's not another year before I post....
Welcome to my blog! Here you'll find a behind the scenes look at the day-to-day life of a TV news reporter. I have a love for food, traveling and all things St. Louis. This is a place for me to write a bit more about my passions.
